Now both these metals are sturdy and durable and work in any application, but there are few criteria that you must consider before making the final choice.
For instance; the design of the bed is one important aspect to consider before choosing a metal headboard. If you want to go for a canopy bed, then aluminum is not such a good choice. A brass canopy bed with the same headboard would be a preferred choice. The number one reason is that it looks beautiful.
You may need to polish brass metal headboard occasionally to get back its shine. Apart from hat there is not much maintenance with brass. The other reason to choose brass is that it won’t get too cold during winters like aluminum. So if you touch it, you won’t get a chilled shock while getting out of the bed.
With brass metal headboard you don’t have to worry about flaking paint, rusting and dullness, like you’d experience with wrought iron or aluminum. You just have to wipe the fingerprints off the brass headboard and polish once in a while and it will look good as new.
If you have a little girl and want to have a headboard for her day bed, then metal is the best choice. In this case an aluminum metal headboard is much preferable as you can repaint it as your girl grows older to match according to her taste and décor.
Aluminum is a much cheaper choice as compared to brass, but if you want something more elegant and luxurious then, brass is a good choice for a metal headboard. But again it’s a matter of personal choice.
